Warranty.

Built for Your Home. Backed for the Long Haul.

Custom cabinetry is an investment in your home, and we want you to feel confident in that investment long after installation day.

At Desert Wood Cabinetry, we take pride in the quality of what we build and the care we put into every project. If something goes wrong because of the way your cabinetry was installed, or if your cabinets simply need an adjustment over time, we want you to know who to call.

This warranty explains our promise in straightforward terms.

Our Promise to You

Your Desert Wood Cabinetry project includes:

  • Lifetime cabinet adjustments;
  • Manufacturer-backed lifetime coverage on qualifying hinges, drawer slides, and other mechanisms;
  • A one-year warranty against qualifying door warpage and twisting; and
  • A five-year installation workmanship warranty.

Your coverage begins once installation is substantially complete and your project balance has been paid in full. No separate registration is required. Your signed proposal or paid invoice serves as proof of coverage.

This warranty is provided to the original purchaser for cabinetry installed in the original home and is not transferable if the home is sold.

Lifetime Cabinet Adjustments

Cabinet doors, drawers, hinges, and slides can occasionally need adjustment as a home settles and cabinetry is used. For as long as you own and live in the home, Desert Wood Cabinetry will provide cabinet adjustments when the concern can be corrected through a normal adjustment.

This coverage is specifically for adjustments. It does not include repair or replacement when the issue was caused by damage, misuse, intentional actions, improper care, another trade, structural movement, or alterations performed by someone other than Desert Wood Cabinetry.

Our goal is simple: if something needs to be realigned, tightened, or adjusted through normal use, reach out and let us take a look.

Lifetime Coverage on Mechanisms

Qualifying hinges, drawer slides, and other cabinet mechanisms may include a lifetime warranty from their manufacturer. When a covered mechanism fails, Desert Wood Cabinetry will help identify the part and work with the manufacturer on the available warranty replacement.

Coverage for these items is provided through the original manufacturer and is subject to that manufacturer's terms, product availability, and claim approval. If the exact part is no longer available, a comparable replacement may be used.

Damage caused by misuse, overloading, impact, intentional damage, improper care, or alterations is not covered.

One-Year Door Warranty

Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are covered for one year against qualifying warpage or twisting.

Because wood naturally responds to temperature and humidity, eligibility depends on the door's size, material, style, and construction. Oversized doors and certain specialty door styles carry a greater natural risk of movement and may have different limitations.

Sometimes a door may appear warped when it simply needs adjustment or when the cabinet or surrounding structure has moved. We will inspect the cabinetry and determine the cause before deciding whether repair, adjustment, or replacement is appropriate.

This door warranty does not cover impact damage, scratches, chips, touch-ups, finish wear, moisture damage, improper care, normal wood movement, or movement caused by the home's structure or environment.

Five-Year Installation Warranty

We stand behind the quality of our installation for five years after substantial completion.

If molding or trim begins to come loose, a cabinet becomes loose, or another part of our installation develops a problem because of our workmanship, we will inspect it and correct the covered installation issue at no charge.

The five-year installation warranty does not cover:

  • Cabinet or finish touch-ups;
  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Cabinet doors, which are covered separately under the one-year door warranty;
  • Accidental or intentional damage;
  • Damage caused by misuse, improper cleaning, water, moisture, excessive heat, or lack of reasonable care;
  • Structural movement, foundation movement, settling, or changes to walls, floors, framing, or ceilings;
  • Work or damage caused by appliances, countertops, plumbing, electrical work, flooring, tile, painters, remodelers, or other trades; or
  • Cabinetry that has been removed, altered, repaired, refinished, or reinstalled by someone other than Desert Wood Cabinetry.

Natural Wood Is Part of the Beauty

No two pieces of natural wood are exactly alike. Variations in grain, color, knots, mineral streaks, texture, and stain absorption are part of what makes custom wood cabinetry unique. These natural differences are not defects.

Wood also responds to its environment. Small changes can occur as temperature and humidity change. Painted cabinetry may eventually show faint lines at joints, and stained cabinetry may deepen or mellow in color over time. Sunlight, cooking, smoke, cleaners, and normal aging can also affect color and sheen.

These changes are a normal part of owning real wood cabinetry and are not signs of poor workmanship.

Because finishes naturally age, a repaired or replaced piece may not be an exact color or grain match to cabinetry already in your home. We will always make a reasonable effort to provide the closest available match.

Cabinet Care Guide

Taking proper care of your cabinetry helps protect both its beauty and your warranty coverage.

  1. Protect cabinets during continued construction or remodeling. Cover them completely with builder-grade protective paper or plastic. Damage caused by construction, remodeling, or other trades is not covered, and any repair would be at the homeowner's expense.
  2. Clean with mild soap and water only. Apply the solution with a spray bottle to a soft cloth rather than saturating the cabinetry. Harsh chemicals, bleach products such as Clorox, solvents, and strong household cleaners can damage the finish.
  3. Use a soft cloth only. Do not use abrasive pads, scrubbing sponges, powders, or other materials that may scratch or dull the finish.
  4. Wipe up water and food immediately. Do not allow spills, standing water, grease, or food residue to remain on cabinet surfaces.
  5. Keep the home climate controlled. Maintain an indoor temperature between approximately 60°F and 80°F and a relative humidity level between 30% and 60%. Extremely high or low humidity can cause wood movement, joint separation, swelling, or warpage.
  6. Protect cabinetry from prolonged direct sunlight. Strong sunlight can fade, discolor, or damage the finish over time. Use window coverings or other reasonable protection where needed.

Damage caused by improper care or failure to maintain a reasonably climate-controlled environment is not covered by this warranty.

If you are ever unsure how to clean or care for something, contact us. We would much rather answer a quick question than have you risk damaging your finish.

If Something Goes Wrong

Reach out as soon as you notice a concern. Please include your name, project address, a short description of the issue, and a few clear photos or videos. If available, include your proposal or invoice number.

Warranty email:

Please report concerns within 30 days of discovery so we can inspect the issue before it becomes worse. Desert Wood Cabinetry must have a reasonable opportunity to inspect and address the concern before another person performs repairs or alterations.

How We Will Make It Right

If we confirm that an issue is covered, we will choose the solution that makes the most sense for the situation. Depending on the coverage, this may include an adjustment, repair, or replacement of the affected component.

If an original product, mechanism, material, or finish is no longer available, we may use a reasonably comparable replacement. Because wood and finishes naturally age, an exact color, grain, sheen, or style match cannot be guaranteed.

Our goal is to treat you fairly, communicate clearly, and stand behind the work that carries our name.

Our Commitment

We build custom cabinetry because we believe the details matter. From the first design conversation through installation and beyond, we want you to feel confident that you chose a company that cares about your home and will be there when you need us.

That is the Desert Wood Cabinetry promise.
